Betty Combie is the Managing Director/owner of Moz Inc. - a training and consulting firm specializing in quality management systems (QMS) and its related areas of strategic planning, operational and project management, process management, procedures, etc. She has over 30 years’ experience in people development and close to 15 years’ experience in organisational improvement. She is well-known for her simple, practical and engaging approach. Betty Combie possesses a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, master’s degree in Educational Measurement and Evaluation and is a certified project management professional (PMP). She has attained achievement certificates as a lead auditor for ISO 9001 – Requirements for quality management systems and ISO 14001 – Requirements for environmental management systems and for the course entitled: Managing Quality for Business Improvement. Her company has been awarded grant assistance from Caribbean Export Development Agency and the European Union as well as the Saint Lucia Trade Export Promotion Agency for the development and production of an online quality management system course entitled: QMS Simplified which reaches a global audience. At the regional level she has been contracted by the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC), the Caribbean Development Bank and the Human Resource Management Association of Barbados. In Saint Lucia, her clientele has been diverse and has included organisations in both the private and public sector. Her employment history covers work with the Saint Lucia Bureau of Standards and with the Ministry of Education in Saint Lucia. At the University of the West Indies Open Campus Saint Lucia, she has been lecturing in Project Management since 2012 and in Quality Management Systems since 2016. She is the Vice Chairperson of the Saint Lucia Bureau of Standards Technical Committee for Management Services, a member of the Association of Management Consultants of Saint Lucia and a member of the Saint Lucia National Trust. She has been a contributor to the magazine Saint Lucia Business Focus.
